PROGRAM OFFERINGS:
Reading Strategies: This program develops the five components outlined by the National Reading Panel essential in the development of effective reading skills.
• Phonemic awareness
• Phonics
• Fluency
• Vocabulary
• Reading comprehension
These skills, which we call “strands of language” are critical for overall academic achievement. When students develop proficiency, their approach to language becomes comprehensive, constructive and creative.
Monday/Wednesday 10-11 AM – Kindergarten-3rd grade
Monday/Wednesday 11:15-12:15 – 4-6th grade
Math Strategies: This program utilizes interactive activities with visual, auditory and tactile strategies to help students to develop and internalize a number sense and math facts fluency. This cognitive approach enables students to become more proficient in mathematical vocabulary, problem solving and reasoning.
Monday/Wednesday 10-11 AM – 4-6th grade
Monday/Wednesday 11:15-12:15 – Kindergarten-3rd grade
Explorations in STEM: This class is an opportunity for students to explore, create and share interactive activities in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Monday/Wednesday 12:45-1:45 – Kindergarten-6th grade
